Hello everyone,
My name is Felipe and I am based in Tampa, FL. Currently, I am serving as the Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager. In my role, I am responsible for the safety of all workers in the construction of a new power plant designed to provide energy to a military installation and surroundings. This project is particularly exciting as it not only contributes to national security but also showcases cutting-edge technology and stringent safety standards.
I have been passionate about safety and environmental health throughout my career, and my future goal is to advance to a director position. In this role, I aim to mentor and guide all departments, sharing my knowledge and experience to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across various industries.
Environmental laws have significantly shaped my career, especially since I began working in industrial and nuclear facilities. These regulations have not only ensured the protection of the environment but also the safety and health of workers to include myself.
In my career, I have been exposed to various toxic substances. The strict environmental laws and regulations have mandated comprehensive training and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize exposure. For instance, working with hazardous chemicals and radioactive materials required adherence to stringent protocols, ensuring that exposure levels remained within safe limits.
