The Positive and Negative Aspects of Globalization
Globalization is the result of many socio-economic processes associated with the widespread use of information technology and new means of communication. It is not difficult to find a connection between globalization strategies and philosophical categories. The new era of rational dialogue is characterized by a respectful attitude to worldview differences and openness to the assimilation of useful acquisitions of all traditional cultures. In the history of philosophy, one can find many beautiful ideas that are interesting to modern civilization and have not been realized before. The given paper will prove that the ideology of capitalist globalization must be replaced by global ethics.
Globalization is a stimulus for international competition; it promotes the development of trade, economy, market relations, and the introduction of technologies into production. It is good because it creates conditions under which developing countries have the opportunity to catch up with developed ones, and contributes to the scientific and technological progress ( Globalization II Good or Bad?: Crash Course World History #42 ). At the same time, with the numerous advantages of globalization, there are also objective disadvantages. Unfortunately, the process of modern globalization is going on according to the capitalist scenario, and this poses a great danger to the sustainable future of humanity.
Globalization, controlled by capitalism and driven by profit, is a new form of enslavement and destruction of humanity. First, globalization unifies the way of life that is familiar to different countries. Secondly, industries are developing unevenly, and some remain undeveloped and forgotten. Globalization contributes to the struggle for resources, which negatively affects the environment due to deforestation, pollution of the oceans, seas, and the irrational use of the Earths benefits.
Because of globalization, the theoretical ability of developing countries to catch up with developed states is being broken down by the ever-increasing gap between them. This is facilitated by the growth of unemployment and poverty, which are also a consequence of deindustrialization, the loss of the market for some professions. It is necessary to oppose capitalist globalization to the liberalization of human values, high culture, and morality. The ideology of capitalist globalization must be replaced by international ethics. Reconstruction of a market economy that would integrate sustainable development goals and human rights can be one of the first steps towards creating a global moral code.
